After two years of hard work and co-operation between Mike Knight,a Worthing teacher, and the sports Development Office of Worthing Borough Council,a Lottery grant was obtained and a four-piste terrain was built at Field Place,Goring.Following an inaugural meeting organised by Mike,Worthing Pentanque Club was formed in November 1997 with approximatley 25 members.

Since then the club has gone from strength to strength and now has approximately 30 adult members and a thriving Junior section run by Kath Knight a qualified coach.
